UPDATES CONCERNING ARMY CORP OF ENGINEERS RAMP CLOSURES

MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District, which oversees operations of numerous recreation sites throughout the southeast, will temporarily close several recreation areas ahead of the 2025 recreation season.

This notice is an update to prior announced closures for Lake Lanier.

We will be continually assessing and reassessing these temporary closures throughout the summer. We encourage visitors to check the current operational status of Corps managed recreation areas at Lake Lanier for any restrictions or safety alerts prior to visiting.

Campgrounds are open and are not planned to close.

 

The following locations with their respective boat ramps are temporarily closed at LAKE LANIER

Burton Mill 

Robinson 

Keith’s Bridge                                

Two Mile

Little River                                      

Van Pugh North

Van Pugh South 

Long Hollow                                   

Mountain View                                          

 

The following parks with their respective boat ramps are open:

 

Balus - Nix Bridge Park- Belton - Old Federal Day Use*- Bolding Mill Multipurpose     

Simpson- Buford Dam Park - Sardis Creek- Duckett Mill Multipurpose - Thompson Bridge- East Bank Park - Thompson Creek Park- Lanier Park - Tidwell-

Little Hall*- Toto Creek Multipurpose- Little Ridge - Vann’s Tavern-

Lower Pool West - West Bank- Lower Overlook - West Bank Scenic Overlook- Lula           (*Newly opened)


LAKE ALLATOONA:

Victoria Day Use / Beaches and Ramps - CLOSED

Coopers Furnace Day Use -CLOSED

Payne Campground Scheduled to close JUNE 2nd (looks like the boat ramp will be open but unknown at time of this posting)





The temporary closures will remain in effect until we can adequately address the staffing shortages. Visitors are encouraged to visit our website: Corps Lakes Gateway for real time updates regarding the parks and alternative recreational options in the area.
